Zac Efron was involved in a scary incident in a swimming pool this weekend. The incident was serious enough to land him in a hospital. The actor, who was in Ibiza, was involved in an unspecified swimming related incident on Friday.
The incident happened as the actor was on vacation in Spain. And to quell the worry of his fans, he took to his Instagram stories on Sunday, to share an update. He posted a picture of himself shirtless as he exercised on an exercise ball and lifted dumbbells in the summer sun.
Some text on the picture read, “Happy and healthy — thanks for the well wishes.”
The 36-year-old actor was taken to the hospital while in Ibiza, with a precautionary message from his representatives about a “minor swimming incident” at a villa. Efron was released from the hospital on Sunday morning, and according to his team is recovering just fine.
A source shared that Efron was found inside a swimming pool by two people working at the villa nad immediately pulled out of the water. However, his team has not confirmed these details with the media.
This is not the first time Efron has been through a scary medical emergency. As we mentioned earlier, while promoting The Greatest Beer Run Ever in 2022, the actor revealed that he “almost died” after shattering his jaw in 2013. During the incident he also suffered from a gash that required stitches.
The surgery that followed his incident, sparked rumors that the actor had altered his face for cosmetic purposes. Efron felt the need to clarify. He said, “My mom told me. I don’t really read the internet, so, I don’t really give a f**k. It was funny… It sucks, I almost died. But we’re good.”
