Simon Biles wasted no time in debuting a new hair makeover following her medal haul at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Biles, considered by many to be the greatest female gymnast of all time, was naturally a strong topic of focus during the Games, where she managed to increase her stock by taking home no less than four medals, including three golds and one silver.
And with all eyes on her, the 27-year-old updated her look last week, giving a shout-out to her hairstylist, Brenton Diallo, in the process.
Diallo, who has reportedly been taking care of Biles’ hair for eight years, posted a photo of the superstar athlete on his Instagram, along with the caption:
“What a magical morning! Reuniting with the GOAT! My sis from another miss, the gorgeous and incredibly gifted @simonebiles. ILY BB. What an honor it is to do your hair. We go back 8 years now, and I couldn’t be more honored to come slay your hair when you’re on top of the world. Ps 8 years, woof! We GROWN grown haha ❤️ YOU!”
Biles, readers may remember, came in for inexplicable criticism during the Olympics in Paris after some took it upon themselves to criticize her hair.
Hitting back at the naysayers, Biles took to Instagram on July 30 to say: “Gonna hold your hand when I say this, next time you want to comment on a Black girl’s hair, JUST DON’T.”
The fact that people felt the need to leave negative comments about Biles’ hair while a heatwave swept through Paris is, frankly, bewildering, but I guess we shouldn’t be surprised with how small-minded people can be on the internet.
In any case, Biles actually opened up about her relationship with her hair in the build up to this year’s Games.

“I’m finally learning to love my hair and the texture that I have and the styles that I can do,” she explained.
Biles also addressed criticism of her 2023 wedding hairstyle, stating: “Most of the backlash we get is from our own community, which is unfortunate… I don’t really care if my edges aren’t smooth.”
As for her new do, Biles received plenty of support and adoration on social media.
“Omg this is gold!!!” wrote one fan.
“THIS IS INCREDIBLE ! Wow !!!” said another.
“Your hair looks fabulous and congratulations on your accomplishments! 🥇❤️” wrote a third.
