Born in 1961 in Fairfield, Connecticut, Meg Ryan faced the challenges of her parents’ divorce during her teenage years. Though, this ended up setting the stage for a journey that would lead her to become one of Hollywood’s most beloved actresses.

Meg Ryan’s journey into acting began during her studies in journalism at the University of Connecticut and New York University. She transitioned into commercials before landing her breakout role in the film Top Gun, where she portrayed the wife of Nick “Goose” Bradshaw. In 2006, Ryan expanded her family by adopting Daisy, a 14-month-old girl from China, marking a new chapter in her personal life. Ryan found the experience of adoption to be filled with love and connection, telling People they were “destined” to be mother and daughter.
