Martin Short and Meryl Streep were seen holding hands at the “Only Murders in the Building” premiere in Los Angeles, Calif., on Thursday.
A video shared by Deadline showed the two walking around the premiere while holding hands.
At one point, they jokingly stood a few feet from each other and reached out to hold the other’s hand.
Streep, 75, looked chic in a long blue and white patterned Stella McCartney dress with three thin black belts wrapped around her waist. She added white slip-on kitten heels, a white purse, silver hoops and her signature black glasses.
Meanwhile, Short, 74, also kept it classy in a black suit with a white button-down shirt and a maroon tie.
A rep for Street told Page Six that the two “are just friends and not dating.”
The “The Devil Wears Prada” star and the “Three Amigos” actor initially sparked romance rumors when they were seen looking quite comfortable with each other at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards in January.
However, Short subsequently shut down the speculation and insisted that they are “just very close friends” in an episode of the “Club Random with Bill Maher” podcast later that same month.
Short reiterated to the Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Thursday that he and Streep are “friends.”
The two have not let rumblings of a romance keep them from hanging out, though, as they have been seen together a handful of times over the last seven months.
Most recently, they were photographed enjoying the Broadway show “Merrily We Roll Along” at the Hudson Theatre in New York City in March.
Prior to that, they were seen leaving together after having dinner with friends at Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica, Calif.
Page Six broke the news in October 2023 that Streep was single after secretly separating from her husband, Don Gummer, six years prior after 40 years of marriage.
Meanwhile, Short was married to Nancy Dolman for 30 years before she died in 2010.
