Gifford visited her former spot on the Today show earlier this month, where she had a sit-down with 59-year-old Hoda Kotb. While promoting her new book Herod and Mary: The True Story of the Tyrant King and the Mother of the Risen Savior, she stated in the interview that she was still recuperating from hip replacement surgery.

“After the procedure, my doctor told me everything went well and then asked, ‘Kathie, how have you been living all this time?’” the patient recalled. “It’s one of the worst hips I’ve ever seen,” he remarked.
Her hip problems could have been caused by her lifestyle.
“You’re constantly moving,” Kotb said to Gifford. Before Gifford retired and moved to Nashville in 2019, the two of them co-hosted Today for eleven years. “No matter how long you were in the car, I never once saw you stop. Having worked in this industry for 60 years, she remarked, “I’ve experienced both incredible and unimaginable success.” “As of right now, you’re seated beneath four Emmys that I never thought I would win. Although I’m appreciative of them, that counts less and less as I age.
“I look at [my Emmys] and I’m grateful, thank you, Lord,” she continued. However, the individuals I’ve impacted in life and the people [in] both of those locations. I’ve worked for Hoda for eleven years and Regis for fifteen. You know, the awards we receive in life that really count are human.
