Jennifer Garner was seen visiting her ex-husband Ben Affleck on his birthday this past Thursday, amid ongoing reports of marital issues between Affleck and his current wife, Jennifer Lopez.
Garner, best known for her role in 13 Going on 30, was photographed at Affleck’s rental home in Brentwood, California.
She kept her look casual yet chic, wearing a striped white T-shirt paired with navy trousers. Her outfit was complemented by simple accessories, including glasses, dainty silver earrings, and an Apple watch.
Despite their 2018 divorce, Garner and Affleck have maintained a cordial relationship, particularly when it comes to co-parenting their three children: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. Their ability to remain friendly and supportive of one another has been a hallmark of their post-divorce relationship, which they’ve both described as “mature.”
In a recent light-hearted moment, Garner even made a joke about her split from Affleck in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film, where she returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Elektra.
Garner’s visit to Affleck comes at a time when rumors of a possible split between Affleck and Lopez are swirling. On the same day that Affleck celebrated his 52nd birthday, Lopez posted solo throwback photos from her own birthday on Instagram, seemingly adding fuel to the speculation about their strained relationship.
Lopez, the On the Floor singer, spent her most recent birthday in the Hamptons, far from Affleck, as the couple continues to lead increasingly separate lives. For her birthday celebration, Lopez held a dinner at Nick & Toni’s restaurant, donning a sparkly sheer Dior Haute Couture gown, and later hosted a Bridgerton-themed party.
Meanwhile, Affleck and Lopez marked their second wedding anniversary in July on different coasts, further intensifying divorce rumors that began circulating in May after Affleck’s notable absence from the Met Gala, where Lopez made a solo appearance.
According to sources, Affleck has reportedly been reconsidering his relationship with Lopez, with some insiders suggesting that he felt as though he was in a “fever dream” during their whirlwind romance. His absence from Lopez’s Atlas press tour and film premieres has not gone unnoticed, leading to increased speculation about the couple’s future.
Garner, however, has remained supportive of Affleck, reportedly encouraging him to work on his marriage with Lopez. Despite these efforts, the couple put their marital mansion up for sale in July, signaling potential finality in their relationship.
Affleck has since moved into a new home in the Pacific Palisades, while Lopez continues her search for a residence in Los Angeles.
As previously reported, both Lopez and Affleck are not officially announcing their split due to one fair reason – it is sure to affect their children.
“They want to make sure the kids are comfortable with the transition and where they are living, etcetera. They don’t want to make it feel like they’re pulling the rug from underneath their children. They’re making a mutual effort to ensure that this transition is as healthy and easy as possible,” a source revealed.
