Criticism of one’s work is unavoidable and, at times, even acceptable.

Obviously, no artist will ever create anything universally liked every time, just as entertainers occasionally have disastrous nights.

While fans expressing such ideas is part of being a celebrity, I think we cn all agree that today, we all hoped we’d be above personal assaults or trolling online.

Unfortunately, we aren’t, and the internet has done an excellent job of effectively serving as a megaphone in a town square with seating for millions.

Not only do celebrities risk running into disappointed fans in their daily lives, but they also have to deal with a flood of remarks whenever they choose to let others in via social media.

Halle Berry was reminded of the internet’s harshness over the weekend when she uploaded a stunning naked photo of herself.

To summarize, Halle Berry broke the internet on Saturday when she shared a photo of herself standing on a balcony, enjoying a glass of wine, and wearing… wait for it… nothing.

The Oscar-winning actress, 56, captioned the photo, “I do what I wanna do.”

While many of the comments in the comments section were nice (people generally congratulated Berry), some still had harsh things to say.

“Imagine being in your 50s, still posting nudes for attention in menopause when you should be chilling with the grandkids,” one user wrote in response to Berry’s nude photo. It is no longer possible to age with dignity.”

Given that Berry has been an A-lister for quite some time, one could be forgiven for believing she might ignore her detractors, treating them with the contempt they deserve.

However, that is not the fabric from which the Catwoman star is made.

No, the Hollywood star responded with a comment that her fans thought hilarious.

The “Monster’s Ball” star retweeted the photo and added, “Did you guys know the heart of a shrimp is located in its head?”

“As someone your age.. keep living your best life and sharing whatever the hell you want when the hell you want,” one Twitter user said.

Another commenter said, “Imagine getting mad because a beautiful woman is proud of her body; that couldn’t be me.”

Audra McDonald, an actress, tweeted, “You won the internet today with this clap back.”

The internet was indeed won. Surprisingly, Berry’s answer to the troll received significantly more attention than the original statement.
