At her sold-out Madison Square Garden performance in Manhattan, Madonna made a statement by flashing her muscles in a skimpy red négligée.
During the concert, the 65-year-old Queen of Pop honored her daughter Chifundo “Mercy” James Kambewa Ciccone’s 18th birthday, so the provocative attire had an extra meaning.
The singer, who was born in Michigan, had her 18-year-old son David Banda Mwale Ciccone accompany her on guitar for the 2003 song
“Mother and Father,” and her daughter Mercy played the piano for the 1992 song “Bad Girl.”
Madonna’s muscular physique astounded her fans, who commented on her look on social media. While some praised her figure, many others remarked that she was too old to be dressing the way she did.
Even with all of the controversy around her, Madonna never stops making news for her songs and her dramatic, upbeat live performances.
Two followers of Madonna, Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden, filed a federal civil action against her on Friday of last week (January 19), alleging that she had engaged in “false advertising.”
According to BBC, the singer is suing the Eastern District of New York for allegedly being late for her December 13 performance at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. The lawsuit asks for undisclosed damages. Due to “sound check issues,” Madonna reportedly performed around 10:45 p.m., confusing concertgoers who thought she was hours late.
Madonna has not let her recent health issues stop her from pursuing her musical profession. In June, a NARCAN injection helped the artist come out of a 48-hour medically induced coma caused by a dangerous bacterial illness. The singer is now on her Celebration Tour, which has brought in $77.4 million over 79 gigs. She has 44.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
In celebration of her four-decade career, Madonna has assembled an amazing stage production for her 12th concert tour in collaboration with creative director Lewis James and musical director Stuart Price. Bob the Drag Queen, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 8, was chosen by Madonna to begin her gigs rather than a conventional band or vocalist.
Madonna is still strong in spite of her past health difficulties, which included hip and knee problems that forced the cancelation of 14 performances on her Madame X Tour in 2019–2020, according to USA Today. Despite further difficulties brought on by the continuing coronavirus pandemic, Madonna underwent knee surgery in April 2020, hip surgery in November 2020, and regenerative treatment for “missing cartilage,” as reported by the Mirror.In the near future, Madonna intends to helm her own biopic for Universal Pictures called Little Sparrow, which will star Julia Garner, an actress and three-time Emmy winner.
After Diablo Cody left, Madonna called in Independent Spirit Award–winning screenwriter Erin Wilson to continue working on the script she had co-written with the Oscar–winning writer. The goal of the biopic is to examine Madonna’s remarkable professional and personal life.
