The latest development in the ongoing drama between former lovers Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt involves their daughter, Vivienne, seemingly dropping “Pitt” from her last name.
Pitt and Jolie have been entangled in legal battles since their divorce in 2019, with both sides hurling various accusations to tarnish each other’s reputation.
The most recent controversy revolves around a French winery the couple bought during their marriage.
In April, documents filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court revealed explosive claims by Jolie, including allegations that Pitt had been physically abusive towards her years before the infamous airplane incident that led to their divorce.
In 2022, Pitt sued Jolie and her former company, Nouvel, for selling her share of the winery. Pitt claimed they had agreed not to sell their stakes without the other’s consent, accusing Jolie of jeopardizing the business’s reputation that he had painstakingly built.
Jolie retaliated, alleging in court documents that Pitt became abusive during a 2016 plane ride from France to California. She accused him of “grabbing” her “by the head” and being physically abusive towards two of their children.
Recent reports, citing new documents from Jolie’s legal team submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court on April 4, suggest that the alleged physical abuse by Pitt began earlier than previously reported.
Pitt has consistently denied these allegations, while Jolie has accused him of trying to financially drain her.
A source close to the situation countered: “Angie claims Brad is bleeding her dry, but it seems like she wants to bleed him dry instead. Despite her vindictiveness, Brad appears to have gone to great lengths to support her financially.”
Fans have taken sides in this bitter dispute, and it seems at least one of the couple’s biological children, Vivienne, is supporting her mother.
According to PEOPLE, 15-year-old Vivienne recently assisted her mother in producing a new musical, The Outsiders. In the official Playbill for the show, Vivienne’s name was listed as Vivienne Jolie, not Vivienne Jolie-Pitt.
Readers may recall that Jolie and Pitt’s eldest daughter, Zahara, introduced herself as ‘Zahara Marley Jolie’ in a video shared by Essence last November. Meanwhile, their son Pax, adopted by Jolie in 2007 from an orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, criticized Pitt in a resurfaced Instagram post from 2020.
“You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell,” Pax allegedly wrote on his private Instagram account. “You may tell yourself and the world whatever you want, but the truth will come to light someday.“
He concluded: “So Happy Father’s Day, you f*g awful human being.”
