Although she did not explicitly mention Depp’s name, he sued her for defamation. Amber retaliated with a counterclaim, accusing him of orchestrating a smear campaign against her and seeking $1 million in damages.

After an emotional and lengthy trial, a jury ruled in favor of Depp, awarding him compensatory damages. However, the jury also voted in favor of Amber, granting her $2 million in damages for a comment made by one of Depp’s lawyers.
