“Age Takes Its Toll”: What Does Eden From “Santa Barbara” Look Like Now?

The endlessly captivating “soap operas”

That enthralled audiences in the Soviet Union with their plots and passion.

We experienced a whole range of emotions with beloved characters, speculating what would happen next.

It could be said that behind each of these series lay a little life.

“Santa Barbara” was the first and most memorable soap opera in the Soviet Union, becoming a true genre classic with 2137 episodes. Filmed in America from July 30, 1984, to January 15, 1993, it aired in our country for a full decade from January 2, 1992. Such prolonged broadcasts are only matched by “Supernatural” starring Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, which lasted 15 years.

No one could tear themselves away from the TV screen, wondering what fate awaited the beloved couple – Eden and Cruz. The episodes were so engrossing and immersed viewers in the atmosphere of California at that time that many dreamed of being in the shoes of one of the characters. It’s amazing that the series achieved unprecedented ratings worldwide but never gained much fame in the US – just an average show with standard ratings.

However, beauty and charisma don’t always help break into the film industry. Marcy appeared in only a few projects and eventually left the world of show business altogether. The actress tried to find her place in the sun, but roles were consistently given to “more deserving” contenders, and sometimes she wasn’t even invited to auditions.

Was it the lack of roles or her unsuccessful personal life that was more important? Walker was married five times, finding happiness only with her fifth husband, Doug Smith. They have been together for 25 years. She had a son with her third husband who decided to follow in his mother’s footsteps.

In 2005, the actress decided to dedicate herself entirely to God. She was ordained as a priest in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of North Carolina. The former actress says she particularly enjoys spreading the Word of God to children. Parishioners still recognize her as their favorite heroine from Santa Barbara, but this doesn’t bother Marcy at all. She has no regrets about acting or leaving the profession behind.
