Alain Delon Spent over 50 Years in His Final Home with Dogs – Pics of His Home Life in Last Years Revealed

One of the most attractive men in the world at one point was Alain Delon.

The movie star tragically passed away in his enormous mansion, which housed everything he held dear.

The actor lived in this magnificent mansion for more than 50 years, and pictures of the property—which is situated on a forested estate—offer a glimpse into his final years.

In his final years, renowned French actor Alain Delon withdrew from the spotlight to pursue a more quiet existence. This was possible for him in his rustic French house, where he relished life’s small joys. The star’s beloved moments just before his passing are poignantly captured in the photos of this house.

Alain died on August 18, 2024, at the age of 88. After a slow-developing cancer detected in 2022 and a stroke in 2019, the actor’s health had been precarious for years.

In a joint statement, his children expressed their grief lost their father and requested privacy. They left a message: “Alain-Fabien, Anouchka, Anthony, as well as [his dog] Loubo, are deeply saddened to announce the passing of their father.”

The press release said, “He passed away peacefully in his home in Douchy, surrounded by his three children and his family.” 120 kilometers southeast of Paris, amid a forested estate, Alain resided in a mansion he constructed in that community.

The actor and his son Alain-Fabien resided in this house, while his other children paid him infrequent visits. Alain-Fabien claimed that the location wasn’t in the best of condition and that “everything keeps breaking down and the electricity doesn’t work.” The location was closed to the general public.

Alain bought over 100 hectares of property, nestled in the heart of the Loiret region, in 1971, and it eventually became his final home. The mansion, his haven of peace, overlooks the Quanne Valley.

Alain’s estate is a fortified haven that reflects his distinct lifestyle and love of seclusion. The actor was surrounded by his pets at home, and the location is a verdant haven.

Alain Delon’s great admiration for art was also evident in his house. It is crammed with bronzes that are especially meaningful to him, paintings, and other items.

Among these are well-known pieces created by one of the most well-known animal sculptors in the world, Rembrandt Bugatti. Alain also owned a Quai Kennedy flat in Paris. His love of imposing sculptures combined with his love of movies to create an apartment with royal tigers and lions.

The actor’s status as a devoted art collector was highlighted by a significant sale organized by Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr in 2023.

The house also has a fantastic family area that is perfect for kids and adults to enjoy. To construct a calm pond and beach area, Alain demolished an old structure on the land.

About fifty of his cherished dogs are buried close to the dog cemetery, which is home to a little sandy beach and pond. Somebody allegedly quoted Alain as saying, “My whole life is there, in the graves of my dogs.”

The way that Alain treated his four-legged friends in life and paid tribute to them in death shows how much he loved them. The fifty canines, each with a headstone, were laid to rest in eternity on the grounds of his house; some were buried next to their companions.

This cemetery was built by Alain as a way to keep them near, and he had once asked to be buried there. This would guarantee that he would always be close to the people he loved the most. The actor claimed to have permission to be buried with his pets in his chapel.

He said that if his Malinois shepherd, Loubo, passed away before him, he would not accept another dog. Loubo was three years old at the time. He referred to Loubo as his “end-of-life dog.”

“I have a special relationship with this one,” the actor said. I don’t sleep with him because I find it annoying that he won’t go upstairs, but I still will. He’s a bit of a temper and has a bias against everyone. When I’m not with him, I miss him.”

Alain also mentioned that if he died before Loubo, he would arrange for the vet to put the dog to sleep in his arms. He preferred this over the idea of his dog suffering and grieving at his grave.

As for inside his mansion, the home includes an indoor swimming pool, a gym, and a games room filled with pinball machines, a poker table, slot machines, and other arcade games.

To finish this magnificent hideaway, Alain added a large home and extended the stables. His lifelong partner Mireille Darc was instrumental in designing the interiors of his many residences.

She is credited for designing the Quai Kennedy apartment, the house in Aix-en-Provence, and the La Brûlerie estate. According to Anthony, Mireille was deeply involved in the décor, shaping the spaces to fit their way of life.

The estate was once a center of activity, but now it is guarded by tall walls and fences. Champion Jean-Claude Bouttier had boxing training sessions from Alain as well. In 1973, this fighter faced off against Carlos Monzón of Argentina for the world title.

The property was transformed into a life-size training camp, complete with a giant boxing ring set among the trees, about 100 meters from the house.

Mireille was also responsible for preparing vitamin-enriched juices for the athletes, ensuring they were well-nourished during their rigorous training sessions.

While Alain’s house served as a haven for him, his three children were deeply involved in a conflict concerning their father’s inheritance. There were hidden recordings, court cases, and public allegations during this sibling’s dispute.

Anthony, his eldest son, accused his half-sister Anouchka of deception regarding their father’s cognitive health. Meanwhile, Anouchka claimed Anthony’s aggressive behavior was too much for their father to handle.

Alain-Fabien Delon, their younger half-brother, supported Anthony by disclosing a tape that purportedly exposed Anouchka’s deceit.

The disagreements within the family also included Alain’s post-stroke medical care in 2019. A lawsuit accusing the children of maltreatment was filed by Alain’s housekeeper, who was allegedly his former partner Hiromi Rollin. This further muddled matters.

Despite these arguments, Alain remained content and appreciative of his existence. In 1987, he was asked, “Do you have any regrets?” on a morning show. With a swift response, the actor said, “No, I have no regrets.”

Thinking back on his lucky career, he pointed out that he had never been forced to make a movie. Alain was able to carefully choose the projects and colleagues that piqued his attention during his two decades as a producer.

He was proud to have accomplished everything on his own terms and said it was a great honor. Alain therefore led a long and fruitful life and passed away in the cozy confines of a house he cherished.
