Miranda Lambert finally breaks silence over controversial concert video – Refuses to apologize

It all started on Saturday, July 15 when the 39-year-old was on stage performing at her Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas residency. Just as she began singing her hit song Tin Man, Lambert halted the music and addressed the crowd after noticing a couple of girls taking selfies on their phones. The Texas native expressed her frustration with the girls, who she felt were more focused on taking selfies than listening to the song. She pointed to the area in the crowd and stated: “I’m gonna stop right here for a second… These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It’s p***ing me off a little bit.”

The country singer received cheers from many attendees as she continued: “I don’t like it, at all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight; I’m singing some country damn music.” Lambert then asked the group to sit down and suggested starting the song again. While she resumed singing, the response from the audience was a little mixed. Some people hollered, cheered, and whistled in support of the artist, while others left the arena in protest.

A fan-recorded video of the incident circulated on TikTok, generating thousands of comments from the online community. Opinions were divided, with some expressing their love for Miranda but questioning her reaction. Others were more sympathetic, believing fans should give their undivided attention to the artists they paid to see. Though, Lambert clearly doesn’t have any regrets over the way she handled the incident, as she commented on the situation recently.

During another concert at her Vegas residency, the country musician spotted someone in the audience who was wearing a T-shirt that read: “Shoot Tequila, Not Selfies.” Lambert seemed amused by the reference, telling the fan: “That’s bada**.” She pointed at the fan as she read the text on the shirt to the audience, who clapped loudly.

“She did it, I didn’t,” Lambert laughed, seemingly acknowledging the controversy surrounding the original selfie incident.

The singer leaned down to compliment the person wearing the shirt, took half a shot of tequila, and handed the rest of it to her guitarist Ethan Ballinger.

Her recent comments appear to be the first time she has publicly acknowledged the selfie incident that ruffled so many feathers and divided so many fans.
