Henry Winkler is still in love with his beautiful wife of 44 years after she recovered from cancer twice

Henry Winkler’s Enduring Love Story

Henry Winkler, the iconic “Fonzie” from “Happy Days,” has had a stellar Hollywood career

But it’s his 44-year marriage to Stacey that truly shines.

Their love story almost didn’t begin, but fate had other plans.222222222

Their first meeting took place in a clothing store where Stacey worked in public relations. Henry, in search of a sport coat, sought her assistance. This chance encounter marked the start of a lifelong love story. Henry fondly recalled, “She was wearing purple parachute pants, and she had red hair. Without her even saying a word, I thought, ‘Woah, a beautiful woman standing in front of me.’ I came back to the store the next week, and she was there. And within 10 minutes, I learned how strong she is.”

Despite Henry’s return to the store a week later to ask Stacey out, she initially hesitated. Eventually, she agreed, and their love blossomed. Stacey and her four-year-old son moved in with Henry, and the couple married in 1978 at the same Manhattan synagogue where Henry had his bar mitzvah.

Their married life wasn’t without challenges. Henry’s rising fame brought him considerable female attention, which Stacey had to navigate. Despite the fan attention, she steadfastly stood by her husband, understanding that it was a testament to his career’s success.

In 1980, the couple welcomed their daughter, Zoey, and in 1983, their son, Max. Max followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming a writer, director, and producer, contributing to popular productions like “New Girl” and “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.”

In the late ’90s, the Winkler family faced a difficult period when Stacey was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went into remission but experienced a recurrence in 2007, which led to a double mastectomy. Since then, she has remained cancer-free.

Henry has been actively involved in breast cancer awareness, supporting various events and organizations dedicated to the cause. His commitment to raising awareness and funds for breast cancer patients and their families has been unwavering.

Despite the challenges they’ve encountered, Henry and Stacey have sustained a loving and enduring marriage. They’ve been open about the hard work it takes to maintain a lasting relationship, underscoring the importance of love, friendship, and mutual respect.

Henry’s public declarations of love for Stacey are evident in interviews and on social media. They are now relishing their roles as grandparents, cherishing the simple joys of family life.

Their love story is an inspiration, a testament to their realism, courage, and enduring love, both as a couple and as individuals. Henry and Stacey Winkler are a shining example of a love that has stood the test of time.
